Shipping & Delivery
Delivery is included
The price shown on every listing includes delivery to the contiguous United States. There is no separate haulage charge added at checkout.
How it arrives
Containers are delivered by tilt-bed or roll-off truck. The driver tilts the bed and the container slides off under gravity while the truck pulls forward. Nothing is craned unless you have arranged that yourself.
What the site needs
This is the part that causes most failed deliveries, so please check it before you order:
- Clear length: roughly 100 feet of straight space for a 40ft container, 60 feet for a 20ft, measured from where the truck stops.
- Width: at least 12 feet of clear access, with no low branches, cables or gateposts.
- Overhead: at least 16 feet of clear height, because the bed tilts.
- Ground: firm and level. Gravel and compacted hard standing are fine. Soft ground, fresh turf and wet clay are not — the truck will sink and the delivery will be aborted.
Timescales
Most deliveries are scheduled within 5 to 15 working days of the payment clearing, depending on stock at the depot nearest you. We confirm a date by phone before despatch; we do not just turn up.
On the day
Someone over 18 needs to be present to show the driver where the container goes and to sign for it. Once it is off the truck, moving it again is a separate job with separate equipment — so be certain about the position before the driver tilts.
Failed deliveries
If the truck arrives and the site will not take it — soft ground, blocked access, nobody there — a re-delivery charge applies, because the haulage has already been paid for. This is why we go through the site checklist before accepting an order.
