Warranty & Complaints
Every container we sell is listed with its grade stated plainly. This page explains what we stand behind, what is not covered, and how to raise a complaint if something is wrong.
Our grade guarantee
We guarantee that the container delivered to you matches the grade and description in the listing you ordered from:
- One-trip: near new, with minimal marking.
- Cargo-worthy: surveyed and certified fit for international shipping at the time of sale.
- Wind and watertight: sound roof, floor and doors that keep out wind and water. Cosmetic rust and dents are normal for this grade.
- As-is: sold with the faults we list, and priced accordingly.
The grades are explained in more detail on our About page.
Check it on delivery
Inspect the container before the driver leaves: the roof, the floor, the door seals and the locking gear. If it does not match the grade you bought, refuse the delivery and call us on +1 (202) 750-0484 while the driver is still there. That is far easier to put right than a complaint raised afterwards.
Faults found after delivery
If a fault appears that was not visible at delivery and was not disclosed in the listing, such as a roof or floor leak on a wind-and-watertight unit, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photographs. Where the fault is ours, we will repair the container, replace it or refund you, at no cost to you. We decide which after inspecting the unit.
What is not covered
- Surface rust, dents and paint marks on units sold as wind-and-watertight or as-is. These are normal for the grade and are not faults.
- Faults specifically listed on an as-is unit.
- Damage caused after delivery, including by moving, modifying or cutting the container.
- Wear and weathering after delivery.
- Planning or permit refusals. Checking what you are allowed to place on your land is your responsibility.
Containers sold as-is are sold with the faults we list and without any further warranty, to the extent the law allows. Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under the law of your state.
